What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- Develop software implementation of geomagnetic models that can be run in a cloud-based environment, including API for high-resolution models.
- Support future updates of geomagnetic online calculators.
- Support and maintain CrowdMag apps.
- Develop new mobile web applications for geomagnetic models and services.
- Develop and update web-pages of the geomagnetism group.
- Support the development of cost effective, innovative solutions for real-time modeling of the geomagnetic field, including cloud computing solutions.
What You Should Know
- This position will be rostered in CIRES at the University of Colorado Boulder but will be physically situated in the David Skaggs Research Center, 325 Broadway, Boulder, CO 80305.
- If you are the selected finalist you will be required to pass a federal laboratory background clearance for site access.
What We Can Offer
- AS I: $50,000 to $65,000 annually.
- AS II: $65,000 to $85,000 annually.

What We Require
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar technical field. Masters preferred.
- One to two years of experience as a software engineer and proven success developing a variety of software systems with responsibility for analysis, design, implementation, and deployment tasks.
- Experience in cloud-based application development.
- Experience developing mobile applications that collect, process, and transmit sensor and location data.
What We Would Like You To Have
- Experience in Java and JavaScript, and web application servers.
- Experience is Android and iOS mobile application development.
- Knowledge and or experience with Spatial data and databases.
- Experience using version control (Git), issue tracking, and continuous integration.
- Experience with developing and troubleshooting complex software systems that run in mixed-environments including Linux and Windows.
- Understanding of software design patterns.
- Knowledge of MySQL database applications.
