Job Summary
The University of Colorado (CU) Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) is seeking one or more postdoctoral researchers to join the Colorado Ultraviolet Spectroscopy Program (CUSP; https://lasp.colorado.edu/cusp). The CUSP team leads a diverse portfolio of research programs related to UV spectroscopy of astrophysical and Solar System phenomena, with opportunities for successful candidates to be involved in space missions such as the SmallSats SPRITE and MANTIS, cutting-edge sounding rocket instruments, protoflight technology programs, and potentially larger flight projects. While the appointment is initially for one year, the CUSP team encourages professional development through mentorship, internal collaborations, and enabling independent research, providing opportunities for a longer term or career appointment.
Who We Are
LASP at the University of Colorado Boulder is one of the largest research institutes at the University of Colorado Boulder. With a focus on solar, stellar, space plasma, atmospheric and planetary sciences, LASP employs both experimental and theoretical approaches to answer key science questions. Since its inception in 1948, LASP has developed, operated, and analyzed the data from scientific instrumentation for solar science, Earth atmospheric, planetary, deep-space, and Earth-orbiting spacecraft missions investigating the Sun, all eight planets, Pluto, and beyond. The progressive development of research capabilities and the use of innovative technologies in pursuit of emerging research initiatives ensures a continued leadership role for LASP in today’s growing “new space” era.
