Job Summary

Parking Services at the University of Colorado, Boulder, welcomes applications for the Assistant Business Systems Analyst. This individual will work with the Business & Systems Analyst to improve & maintain the organization’s information systems. They will conduct maintenance procedures on existing systems, and perform various administrative duties related to the department's IT systems. Additionally, they will work with the Business & Systems Analyst on enhancements to existing systems, and the implementation of new systems. This will include system design & analysis, testing, configuration, and process documentation. This position is expected to become a content expert on the department's information systems and will be responsible for the creation of end-user training programs & documentation. Successful candidates will have strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, & communication skills, as well as the ability to learn independently.

Parking Services (PS) is a department within the Auxiliary Services unit of Finance and Business Strategy (FBS) at the University of Colorado Boulder. The FBS goal is to provide innovative customer service and revenue-focused solutions to support our campus and local community clients. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Software system maintenance 
  • System user management
  • Perform system maintenance & cleanup tasks
  • Manage API integrations & ETLs
  • Basic script & report writing
  • Create & oversee support cases with software vendors
Documentation & training
  • Write & maintain internal software process documentation
  • Write & maintain internal training documentation
  • Liaise with internal clients to effectively document business processes
  • Lead software training sessions for staff
Research, propose & implement software solutions 
  • Assess impacts & schedule software updates with vendors
  • Research new industry technologies & create feasibility studies
  • Assist with implementation of system enhancements
  • Perform solutions testing
Procurement & other administrative duties
  • IT hardware procurement & disposal
  • Respond to software support requests
  • Manage desktop computer replacement cycle
  • Serve on the department's Operational Leadership Team

What We Can Offer

Starting Salary is $50,000. Commensurate with experience.

What We Require

  • Bachelor's degree. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.

What You Will Need

  • Basic working knowledge of SQL.
  • Understanding of relational databases.
  • Experience writing queries & reports.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 products.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong problem solving & analytical skills.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to research & learn independently.

What We Would Like You To Have

  • At least 2 years of work experience in a related IT field
  • Prior experience conducting software training.
  • Experience writing product documentation.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodology: Lean, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Experience with reporting & analytics software: SAP Crystal Reports, Tableau, Power BI, etc.
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams, Power Apps, & SharePoint.
