Job Summary

The Department of Political Science at the University of Colorado at Boulder invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor level in Political Theory. The appointment begins in (Fall) August 2019. Successful candidates must demonstrate a research focus in contemporary political theory. We are particularly interested in candidates with specialization in one of the following areas: race and inequality, non-Western or indigenous political thought, post-colonial theory, or democratization. Priority will be given to candidates whose research and teaching interests complement those of our existing political science faculty without duplicating those of our political theory faculty. The position requires teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including contributing to the teaching of our large, introductory lecture course in political theory and advising PhD students.

What We Require

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidates who have completed a PhD in political science and those who are ABD may apply. ABDs will be hired at the instructor level and will be allowed up to two years to complete the PhD. PhDs will be hired at the Assistant Professor level.
