Job Summary

The Department of History at the University of Colorado Boulder seeks a tenure-track assistant professor specializing in the history of Russia and Its Borderlands, 1750-present. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active research agenda, teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in Russian and European history (including the modern European history survey), and provide service to the department, campus, and larger professional community. ABDs will be considered, but the Ph.D. degree or its equivalent in History or a related field must be conferred by August 17, 2020.

Candidates are required to submit a letter of application that discusses their research and teaching interests, a current CV, an article-length scholarly writing sample, a syllabus for a Russian history course, a diversity and inclusion statement (maximum 250 words) that demonstrates the applicant’s experiences with and commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive campus climate, and the names and contact information for three references.

Established in 1901, the History Department at the University of Colorado Boulder is the home of nationally and internationally renowned historians. At the undergraduate and graduate levels our program has traditionally offered a broad education in most fields of historical inquiry.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

What We Can Offer

The salary for this position will be between $77,000-82,000 commensurate with experience.
