The Department of Biochemistry (BCHM) and the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology (MCDB) at the University of Colorado Boulder invite applications for tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level. We seek to hire outstanding scientists with expertise in molecular, cellular or developmental biology, computational or systems biology, biochemistry, RNA biology, structural biology, or related fields.

The Biochemistry and MCDB faculty conduct innovative research to understand fundamental biological processes and to solve pressing biomedical issues facing our world.  Our faculty, students, and staff form a vibrant and collaborative intellectual community in which to work. We seek outstanding scientists to join the faculty to expand and to complement our current expertise. We seek colleagues who will develop a creative and innovative research program, attract external funding, provide research training for graduate and undergraduate students, teach at the undergraduate and graduate level, and contribute to ongoing efforts to increase diversity and equity in the STEM fields. 

The departments of Biochemistry and MCDB are in the College of Arts and Sciences, whose faculty conduct research, scholarship, creative work and education in more than 60 fields. The college leads nationally in undergraduate and graduate education, bringing world-class research and scholarship to our students, in and out of the classroom. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • ​The Department of Biochemistry and the Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB) at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applicants for tenure-track faculty positions at the assistant professor level. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a creative and innovative research program, to attract external funding, to provide research training for graduate and undergraduate students, and to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate level.

What You Should Know

  • This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, which will include components of research, teaching, and service.

What We Can Offer

The salary for this full-time 9-month appointment is $92,000-$98,000 annually. Summer salary can be taken from grants or other funds. Funds are available for the research space, office space, moving allowance, and includes competitive startup funds.

What We Require

  • Ph.D., Post-Doctoral Research Experience, and a strong publication record.
    • Ph.D. field of study: Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Structural Biology, Computational Biology, Chemical Biology or related field.

What You Will Need

  • A compelling research program that is competitive for private and federal funding; demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Demonstrable experience teaching students at the University level (may have been obtained while working on Ph.D.)
  • Candidates with a strong interest in diversity, equity, and inclusion are encouraged to apply.
