Job Summary

The Department of Mathematics invites applications for a tenure-track position, at the level of Assistant Professor, in the area of partial differential equations. This position will start in the Fall 2024 semester (August 2024).

Who We Are

​​The Mathematics Department of the University of Colorado Boulder has broad range of research interests, including Algebraic and Differential Geometry, Combinatorics, Logic and Foundations, Mathematical Physics, Partial Differential Equations, Number Theory, Noncommutative Geometry, Operator Algebras, Probability, and Topology. We presently have twenty-four tenured and tenure-track faculty as well as eleven postdoctoral fellows and visitors. The Mathematics Department has over fifty graduate students and serves well over five hundred undergraduate majors and minors. ​

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • ​​Teach three, one-semester courses in undergraduate or graduate mathematics during each academic year, carry out mathematical research at a high level and carry out service duties, such as one or two committee memberships, suitable to the assistant professor junior appointment.

  • ​​Candidates who have yet to defend their thesis will be considered, but a doctoral degree in mathematics must be granted prior to the start date of the appointment.​

What We Can Offer

The salary range for this full-time position is $95,000 - $110,000 annually.

  • ​​​Doctoral degree in mathematics (must be granted prior to the start date of the appointment).
