Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic Business Intelligence professional to further LASP’s science mission by providing information technology coordination and support for LASP’s Finance Team. This professional will have a technology-first approach to solving problems and optimizing processes. Duties include research, selection, and compilation of financial data from various sources, such as production, accounting, vendors, and subsequent analysis of that data to produce business information used to support organizational decisions. Data are often difficult to obtain and may be diluted with unnecessary data points. Identifies questionable data and may then direct others in verifying the accuracy of data. Provides and presents an executive summary of data results in a simplified understandable outline. Decisions may impact the effectiveness and efficiency of administrative and business processes.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Gathers business intelligence from a variety of sources including the Lab, University, Partner Institutions, Research Sponsors, and Public Information.
  • Analyzes business data to drive decision-making and develop actionable recommendations for high-impact outcomes.
  • Develops KPI’s for ongoing program and project data.
  • Identifies and builds data products and solutions including data storage, modeling, processing, QA, debugging, and reporting.
  • Models outcome of implementing recommendations.
  • Summarizes administrative and financial data for review by executives, directors, managers, business analysts, and other partners.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

What We Can Offer

The salary range for this position is $85,000.00 - $95,000.00. We offer a generous retirement plan that includes 200% matching for the first 5% contributed with immediate vesting. Relocation assistance is available per institute guidelines.

What We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Business Intelligence, or Information Science.
  • 5 years of professional experience. This can be substituted with a combination of education and professional experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen or a Permanent Resident..

What You Will Need

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in SQL, Power BI or Tableau, MS SQL Server, Oracle 11+, and Office 365.
  • Ability to collect and compile relevant data.
  • Extremely organized with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent ability to analyze information and think systematically.
  • Strong business analysis skills.
  • Works well independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle databases and understand technology-driven business intelligence tools.

What We Would Like You To Have

  • Working knowledge of MS SQL Server Stored Procedures, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
  • Exposure to Azure SQL and Functions.
  • Master’s degree.
