Job Summary
The Leeds School of Business is seeking proactive and passionate Career Development Coaches to empower our undergraduate students on their career journeys! The Career Coach will provide comprehensive career coaching to undergraduate students at the Leeds School of Business, guiding them through recruiting strategies, job search techniques, and professional development. While this Career Coach will work with students across diverse business emphases and career pathways, the person in this role will also be expected to develop deep expertise in the finance sector. This focus will enable the person in the role to serve as a subject matter expert, providing nuanced insights and leading specialized educational initiatives for students and contribute to the planning and execution of impactful career development events and programs.
The Career Coach will play a vital role in preparing students for successful careers by equipping them with crucial skills in resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation, networking, and salary negotiation (among others). The Career Coach will work closely with various Leeds partners, including Employer Relations, Faculty, and the Burridge Center of Finance.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Student Career Coaching & Development
- Provide one-on-one and group career coaching to undergraduate students within the Leeds School of Business undergraduate program.
- Assist students in identifying career opportunities that align with their strengths, values, and interests across a broad range of business functions.
- Guide students in developing compelling resumes and cover letters, strengthening their interview preparation, enhancing networking techniques, and understanding salary negotiation.
- Actively develop and maintain a strong understanding of the finance industry, including various roles, recruiting trends, employer timelines, expectations, and technical assessments/interviews.
- Provide tailored coaching and feedback to students throughout their time at Leeds, supervising their progress against career goals and offering strategic guidance.
- Work with students to develop and continually refine realistic job search plans for both internships and full-time employment.
Career Education & Program Leadership
- Collaborate with the Associate Director and other Career Coaches to develop and deliver comprehensive career development programming for the undergraduate business population.
- Design, develop, and deliver/instruct specialized workshops, career panels, courses and training sessions focused on finance careers.
- Develop and maintain resources (e.g., finance recruiting guides, case prep materials, technical skills modules) for students interested in business and finance careers.
- Work closely with Employer Relations staff to support on-campus recruiting, employer events, and alumni engagement initiatives, with a particular focus on the finance sector.
Administration, Documentation & Tracking
- Use Salesforce to track all student interactions, progress, and placement outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Associate Director to develop, coordinate, and implement the collection of student career interest and progress data; compile and analyze data to address student needs in a timely fashion.
- Contribute to meeting school-wide placement and response rate goals by actively engaging with students and the Career team.
- Partners with Academic Advisors, Faculty, and other undergraduate programs to share information on student progress and needs, identifying intervention strategies.
- Work with Career Development Team to ensure graduate contact information is collected and alumni contacts are up to date.
What You Should Know
- This position is in a hybrid work situation.
What We Can Offer
- $54,060 - 60,000. Relocation assistance is available within Leeds guidelines.

What We Require
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- One year of experience in a business field.

- Excellent written and oral communication.

- Superior customer service skills when interacting professionally with corporate recruiters, students, faculty, administrators, and staff.
- Ease in using technology, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), LinkedIn, and other relevant social media platforms.
- Strong ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of partners.
- Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends for specialized events and/or workshops.

What We Would Like You to Have
- 3 years experience in the finance industry and knowledge of financial services careers.
- Experience developing and tracking metrics to gauge student progress using a CRM or similar tool (e.g., Salesforce).
