Job Summary

​​The University of Colorado’s Department of Speech Language, & Hearing Sciences seeks a Full-Time (9-month) Clinical Assistant Professor in Audiology to provide evidence-based clinical services, graduate student training and mentorship, and undergraduate and graduate classroom education. Provision of clinical services and clinical education will include in-person services occurring in our on-campus clinic and through local/regional partners. The anticipated start date for this 9-month position is January 2025. Optional Summer teaching may be possible for additional compensation.​

Who We Are

Located in beautiful Boulder, Colorado, the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences offers a broad range of student training in ASL, speech & hearing sciences, clinical practice, and research. The program offers ASL courses to meet foreign language requirements at the undergraduate level. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • ​​Clinical teaching and supervision of graduate audiology students, audiological evaluation and treatment of clients and subsequent follow-up in a medical setting; instructor of record for clinical practicum courses as assigned; classroom teaching related to area/s of expertise at the undergraduate and/or graduate level; attending university/college/department/division meetings as appropriate; opportunity to assist clinical program leadership with clinical administration/development; other duties and responsibilities as assigned.​

What You Should Know

  • ​​This position is full-time during the academic year.  Optional Summer teaching may be possible for additional compensation. 
  • ​Workload (teaching and service) includes planning/scheduling clinical experiences for a cohort of AuD students, providing clinical care while working with AuD students, teaching academic courses in each of the fall and spring semesters, and departmental service (during the academic year).​

What We Can Offer

The salary range for this position is $​​60,000-65,000​ for nine months.

What We Require

  • Doctoral Degree in Audiology (AuD and/or PhD) or Master’s Degree in Audiology (MA/MS) obtained prior to 2007; current or eligible for Colorado License to practice Audiology.

What You Will Need

  • Interest and commitment to teaching courses in a Speech, Language, and Hearing Science undergraduate and/or graduate program. 
  • At least of 3 years of clinical experience.
  • Effective oral/written communication skills required.
  • Must have a demonstrated commitment to diversity.​ 
  • Passion and interest in clinical teaching and pedagogy 
  • A commitment to continued learning and applying evidence-based practice 
  • Ability to collaborate as a team to support student success  
  • Flexibility to adapt and evolve to changing student, department, and university needs 
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written 
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity

What We Would Like You to Have

  • ​​Five years of professional experience as an audiologist, 2 years of experience in the clinical precepting of audiology students. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence: Audiology (CCC-A)​
