Job Summary
Student Affairs Communication and Marketing at CU Boulder encourages applications for a Communication and Marketing Coordinator! This role participates as a member of the Student Affairs Communication team. This role will be responsible for managing and developing engaging websites and supporting email and newsletter creation and distribution. Web and email will cover a range of topics including student life, getting involved, health and wellness, leadership opportunities, and career development.
This position will also be responsible for implementing multiple communication campaigns across a variety of internal and external audiences, including students, CU Boulder families, CU Boulder faculty & staff, and division personnel. Communication campaigns will include content creation and design for print, email, digital, web, and social platforms. This individual will provide creative solutions to meet division communication needs while maintaining focus on and advocating for constituent experience and needs. This job will require an understanding of website management and mass email distribution.

Student Affairs Communication and Marketing is a full-service team that supports the Division of Student Affairs with critical communication and marketing needs. Professional staff use their expertise and diverse skillsets to create materials that engage, educate, and promote Student Affairs departments. SA Comm collaborates with departments to develop and implement communication plans and tactics. The team strives to balance the goals of departments with the needs of our audiences and share communication that's timely and relevant. SA Comm also works closely with campus partners to ensure integrated campus-wide marketing and communications.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Communications and Marketing
- Coordinates and implements multiple communication and marketing campaigns through a variety of channels including web, email, social media, digital, and print.
- Ensures that all media platforms are fully used and coordinated with larger division campaigns by working collaboratively with other members of the Student Affairs Communication team.
- Creates, designs, reviews, and deploys communication tactics for a variety of campaigns.
- Assesses communications for effectiveness and engagement.
- Understands the relationship between design, content, and user experience and therefore adapts content as needed for each medium and audience.
- Reviews and edits thoroughly all communication pieces at each phase of the creation and deployment process.
- Identifies appropriate uses for videos and photos in the overarching communication plan.
- Maintains strong brand identity across all communication and marketing materials.
Communication Liaison
- Works with departments within the Division of Student Affairs and campus partners to develop web content that is consistent with critical initiatives and branding
- Stays abreast of industry developments to maintain the professional competence, knowledge, and skills necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities including changes in regulations, technology, and standard processes
What You Should Know
This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of 3 days a week in the office.
What We Can Offer
- The starting salary for this position is $57,101.

What We Require
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- 1-3 years of experience creating content for marketing and communications campaigns.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
What You Will Need
- Exceptional interpersonal, writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Experience with website management or HTML.
- Experience creating for diverse outlets (web, print, social media) and audiences.
- Experience creating content for diverse audiences (students, faculty, staff, broader community members).
- Experience working in a collaborative environment.
What We Would Like You to Have
- A bachelor’s or master's degree from an accredited college or university in communications, marketing, advertising, journalism, English, or closely related field.
- Knowledge of AP Style.
- Experience using email distribution platforms.
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with customer relations management systems.
- Experience using CSS, HTML, and/or a content management system, preferably Drupal.
- Experience working in Higher Ed or student-focused organizations.
