Job Summary

The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at CU Boulder is encouraging applications for The Curriculum and Clinical Coordinator position! This position includes two primary functions: Curriculum support for the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience and support for the Clinical Psychology PhD program and its two clinics.

The curriculum support responsibilities include the delivery of the graduate curricula for the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience and support for undergraduate education. The department delivers around 25 graduate courses and 60 undergraduate courses, with an additional 75 lab/recitation sections each semester. There are two separate undergraduate majors: the Psychology major with 3000 students and the Neuroscience major with 750 students. There are five separate graduate degree programs: Behavioral Neuroscience; Behavioral, Psychiatric, & Statistical Genetics; Clinical Psychology; Cognitive Psychology; and Social Psychology with over 90 Ph.D students (combined). This position works closely with the Curriculum Program Manager, the department's Chairs of both undergraduate and graduate education, and the Director of Clinical Trainings.

This position is also responsible for assisting the Clinical Psychology PhD program with regulatory requirements for tracking student progress and providing clinic support for the Raimy Clinic, and Attention, Behavior, and Learning (ABL) Clinic. The position is responsible for ensuring that the Clinical Psychology PhD program continues to be one of the top-rated accredited programs in the country. To maintain accreditation, the program must adhere to numerous ongoing requirements. It is the responsibility of this position, along with the Director of Clinical Training, to evaluate and execute all processes needed to maintain the program's accreditation, such as computing statistical analysis to regularly update highly detailed disclosure data online, as well as contact over 50 individuals to gather professional activity data and to prepare the extensive Annual Report submitted to the APA every September.

The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience is responsible for over 3,700 students in two undergraduate majors and five PhD programs. Our 52 faculty teach and conduct research on topics that range from the molecular to the community level. Our work is spread across multiple campus locations (MUEN, IBG, WILD, & CINC), with an annual budget of $20 million, which includes approximately $12 million in grant-funded research and $600,000 in gift funds.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Curriculum Support -
Psychology & Neuroscience Graduate Course Scheduling:
  • There are five separate graduate degree programs: Behavioral Neuroscience; Behavioral, Psychiatric & Statistical Genetics; Clinical Psychology; Cognitive Psychology; and Social Psychology. This position has shared responsibility with the Associate Chair for Graduate Education, to plan for and staff all graduate courses offered by the Department of Psychology & Neuroscience. This position has primary responsibility to schedule all graduate courses that are delivered by the department and locate and enter the classes in the campus class scheduling system.
  • Responsible for working with graduate program directors to solicit the graduate teaching plans for all faculty, update course descriptions, reserve department rooms for these courses, and strategically schedule graduate courses to minimize overlap with other graduate courses and key TA assignments.
Faculty Course Questionaire, Enrollment, and Proctoring:
  • FCQ Coordinator: Prepare requests for semester Faculty Course Questionnaire for all PSYC & NRSC courses. Compile FCQ file requests for faculty promotion and review cases and other FCQ reports for the department, the associate chairs for undergraduate education, and the department chair. Read through all FCQ comments each semester and send a list of notable comments for associate chairs to review.
  • Enrollment for Independent study & honors thesis students: Review independent study and honors thesis forms for Psychology and Neuroscience undergraduates. Route for signature and then enroll students. Direct students with questions to their academic advisor, Honors Program director, or appropriate website for information.
  • Incomplete forms: Route incomplete forms throughout the semester for signature and save for department files.
  • Proctor hiring: Hire graduate student proctors to assist with accommodation testing proctoring. Recruit proctors, hire them on overload student assistant appointments, orient them to proctoring procedures, and approve their biweekly timesheets. Send out proctoring procedures each semester to the department. Evaluate whether the current proctoring method is working and make changes to the process if necessary.
  • Remind proctors about outstanding proctoring requests.
Lecturer and Curriculum Support:
  • Lecturer hiring: Will assist Curriculum Program Manager in the lecturer hiring process each semester by following the current Arts & Sciences lecturer offer letter process and rules. Gather CV and teaching grid from lecturer, fill out detailed lecturer hire spreadsheet. Coordinate with the Human Resources Service Center (HRSC) to make sure appointments are entered correctly. Keep track of leaves and replacements budget spent on lecturers. Along with the Associate Chair for Undergraduate Education, make sure lecturers are provided with sufficient information concerning department, college, and campus policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Support the curriculum for the Public Health major.
  • Act as liaison for the Public Health major and Public Health academic advisors. Complete enrollment override requests for Public Health students and serve as Psychology and Neuroscience department contact for this major.
  • Stay up to date with changes and information regarding the major. Keep track of upcoming and future Psychology class offerings that count as Public Health major electives and communicate this with the program and advisors.
  • Assist the Curriculum Program Manager with tasks such as waitlist re sequencing, undergraduate enrollments and permissions, reserving review session rooms with the Registrar, pulling data such as course rosters, etc.
  • Address requests from faculty related to supporting the department's teaching mission. This position is responsible for collaborating with departmental faculty (c. 45 tenure-track faculty; 14 full-time and part-time teaching faculty, and 6-13 lecturers each semester, other committees (Graduate Education Committee, etc.) and pertinent campus offices.
Clinical Support -
APA Accreditation Liaison:
  • Prepare annual APA and accreditation reports and organize site visits.
  • In consultation with the Director of Clinical Training (DCT) and Clinical Program director, complete the annual APA report (COA), which involves emailing and collecting forms from students, faculty, and alumni, and updating this information in the APA system.
  • Assist DCT and Program Director with a more comprehensive APA Self Study report every 5 years and site visit/Self Study report every 10 years. Analyzes data and prepares the substantial part of Self Study Reports in preparation for the regular Site Visits and supports the DCT and program director with additional accreditation-related tasks.
  • This position will organize scheduling and logistics for site visits by APA or other parties when they occur.
Data Management:
  • Solicit and collect clinical graduate student end-of-semester forms, annual evaluations, and clinical practicum evaluations.
  • Maintain electronic files for each student and follow up with students to ensure paperwork is turned in. These student files are inspected by the APA during site visits and must be meticulously maintained.
  • Persistently follow up with current students and alumni up to 10 years post-graduation to ensure that all files are updated and complete.
Liaison to Graduate Program Assistant and Events Coordinator:
  • Work with GPA and events coordinator to organize graduate student applicant Interview Day.
  • Work with GPA and event coordinator on APA and related site visits.
Clinic Support:
  • Provide logistical support for calendaring, appointment reminders, and invoicing in the clinical graduate student training clinics (Raimy Clinic, and Attention, Behavior, and Learning Clinic.)
  • Complete a spreadsheet for submitting to CU Risk Management that lists the clinic supervisors who need to be included in the program’s liability insurance coverage.
  • Assist with purchasing clinical assessment kits and supplies for students to use in their practicum coursework.

What You Should Know

  • At least 3 days/week on campus. This can be subject to change based on the business needs of the department. 
  • Employee may be expected to be on campus up to 5 days a week during the initial training period. 

What We Can Offer

The annual salary for this full-time position is $55,000-$60,000.
