Job Summary

Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) of CU Boulder welcomes applications for a Customer Relations Specialist - Accounting Technician II. This position serves as the public face of the organization by welcoming campus guests and regular clients to the main office. This includes greeting guests and listening to understand their individual needs in order to provide a menu of choices that best meet these needs, especially when handling guest complaints. In addition, the incumbent should be able to offer suggestions about campus events and local amenities.

Who We Are

Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) is responsible for the construction, maintenance, enforcement and administration of most of the university's existing and new parking facilities, customer service, business operations, and providing staffing and traffic coordination plans for thousands of annual campus events.

 
PTS also administers the university's fleet vehicles, controls the Buff Bus routes connecting residence halls with campus, and oversees campus sustainable transportation programs.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Listen to guest needs in order to provide solutions for satisfying their parking-related needs.
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of campus parking facilities, department procedures, and the ability to communicate to a diverse clientele including discussions about standard permit options, the rationale behind issued parking citations, and general information about campus or local amenities.
  • Advise guests on how to remedy problems with their accounts or impounded vehicles.
  • Process transactions as a result of understanding their guest’s needs including permit purchasing, violation payments, and refund processing.
  • Correct errors and advise the Customer Service Manager of errors encountered during their shift beyond their ability to control given department guidelines.
  • Process any detail related to guest transactions or information requests they cannot fulfill based on department guidelines.
  • Maintain their workspace, balancing their shift drawers, and processing mail.

What We Require

  • Two years of full-time equivalent technical accounting experience. 
    • Substitution: Two years of college, university or non-correspondence business school, which included eighteen (18) semester credit hours of accounting, can substitute for up to two years of the required experience.
      • If using an educational substitution, a transcript or proof of degree must be submitted with your application.

What We Would Like You To Have

  • Two years of cash handling experience.
  • Two years of customer service experience.
  • Prior experience working in higher education.
