Job Summary

The Leeds School of Business at CU Boulder invites applications for a Digital Communication Specialist. The ideal candidate will have the capability and confidence to manage Leeds’ use of Marketing Cloud features, create best-in-class communication practices and provide a deep level of knowledge and support. This position involves excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, strong teamwork and enthusiasm for helping other team members in the school to improve their email marketing. The specialist is also an advocate for user needs and developing positive user experiences that are measured using analytic skills. This position is designed for someone who understands the opportunities and challenges created through digital marketing to help the school exceed its ambitious enrollment, retention and reputation goals. Although the position reports to Leeds’ marketing and communications team, this person will work closely and collaborate with many partners including Leeds Technology Services.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Digital and Email Marketing Coordination

  • Central resource for creating and implementing ad-hoc/weekly/monthly email marketing initiatives based on provided content and assets to include coding/dynamic content, list creation, QA/proofreading/testing/editing, scheduling/deployment, and campaign reporting and analysis.
  • Responsible for managing an email calendar across all partners. Maintains templates and folder structures for federated users responsible for email sends.
  • Coordinate across groups to educate federated users about campaign performance, trends and effective digital engagement practices.
  • Implement best-in-class practices to ensure email marketing communications are effective, targeted, relevant, responsive and on-brand while driving open and click-through rates.
  • Build and manage communications for prospective students, current students, alumni, and industry contacts for the School of Business.
  • Build out resources for department use including use of high quality images, templates, and email designs that meet immediate needs.

Marketing Cloud Administration

  • Serve as a bridge between marketing and technology as an embedded user within Leeds Technology Services.
  • Create and maintain data models to properly manage audience segmentation including relevant data extensions, reports, and campaigns.
  • Function as an institutional expert on the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform for various business units and departments.
  • Train new users on Marketing Cloud and Mogli (text messaging) standard practices including brand standards, proper communication cadence and compliance with ADA and CAN-SPAM acts.
  • Through research and professional development, identify new opportunities to use Marketing Cloud in more sophisticated ways and advance the maturity of Leeds’ digital platforms.

Data Reporting

  • Track email sends across the school and develop relevant dashboards and reports.
  • Work with partners and senior leaders to review campaign performance KPIs to provide feedback and consultation for improving performance.
  • Analyze A/B test email sends and provide data driven feedback to the team on communications that were most effective.

Website and Digital Communications

  • Manage basic edits to Drupal website as related or impacted from Marketing Cloud and other Digital Communications.
  • Working with design and video teams, maintain and update Leeds’ network of digital screens and monitors to reflect and amplify messages shared through website and email communications.

We anticipate this position will support a hybrid format (remote and in-person work).

What We Can Offer

The salary range for is $55,000 - $70,000 annually.

What We Require

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience.

What You Will Need

  • Experience building and distributing email communications.
  • Understanding of Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, or other CRM/email marketing standard processes and functionality.
  • Knowledge of HTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance including CAN-SPAM and ADA accessibility/WCAG compliance.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, organize and collaborate.
  • Microsoft Office and Google Suite proficiency.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

What We Would Like You To Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, IT or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience managing digital marketing and educating users across an organization.
  • Experience working with a CMS system like Drupal, WordPress, Joomla or similar platform.
  • Experience with Content Builder, Data Extensions, and Marketing Cloud Connector.
  • Salesforce Certifications and/or Trailhead Badges relevant to the position.
