Job Summary

The Center for Inclusion and Social Change welcomes applications for an Education Program Coordinator. This position is responsible for workshop planning, registration process management, communication and tracking of workshop participants, technical and digital media support, project management, and administration of the Intercultural Development Inventory. This position requires attention to detail, ability to manage a variety of tasks, development of new procedures and processes, and a commitment to social justice and civic engagement work. The Coordinator is part of a dynamic and interconnected team of staff and students, and reports directly to the Program Director of Education in the Center for Inclusion and Social Change. The vision for the newly created Center is to provide high impact transformational community building and educational programs for the CU community and to nurture leaders grounded in the core principles of intersectional identity development, diversity education, equity, and social justice. Some weekend and evening hours are required.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Educational Workshop Support and Coordination
  • Oversee all logistics, planning, and execution of educational workshops, including those for the Certificate of Completion in Inclusion and Social Change. 
  • Responsible for space reservations, calendaring, marketing and outreach, registration, logistics, preparing training binders/materials, technical support, managing of program participants and tracking of completion, and ensuring trainings are staffed with a facilitator or trainer. 
  • Provide support and budget oversight for programs, conferences, and events for both on-campus and off-campus participants. 
Intercultural Development Inventory Administration and Support 
  • Provide administrative and technical support to the Intercultural Development Inventory program for students. 
  • Identify and implement systems, policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure the success and efficiency of the program. 
  • Respond to requests for student groups to take the IDI, working with Financial Services to collect speedtypes and charge relevant fees for the IDI, assigning codes and tracking completion, assisting students in signing up for feedback sessions, maintaining calendars of group sessions, assigning Qualified Administrators to group presentations, and overall problem-solving in implementing the new program. 
  • Provide support for communication listserves and newsletters for Qualified Administrators and a web-resource for students who wish to engage further in intercultural development. 
  • Maintain collaboration with the educational team, colleagues in HR, as well as other universities, as necessary to improve and optimize processes for the IDI program. 
Coordination and Support for the Social Justice Peer Education Program 
  • Provide technical, media, and administrative support for the Social Justice Peer Education Program, including maintaining calendars, space reservations, digital media support, marketing and outreach, helping to orient students to volunteer in the Center, and organizing staff training opportunities. 
  • Collaborate with and work alongside the Graduate Student Coordinator, and other staff on the education team to effectively implement this program.  
  • Advise students and mentor peer educators and volunteers using student development theory, leadership and social justice theories. 
  • Support students one on one and in group settings through mentorship, active listening, motivational interviewing, effective communication skills, making appropriate referrals; overseeing work schedules, and reviewing work and approving student staff hours.
  • Supervise Marketing student staff in developing content to deliver across social media channels, including though not limited to CISC’s vision, mission, and values, engagement and learning opportunities, educational messages, as well as timely responses to high impact events that effect populations using the center.  
Fiscal and Budgeting Support 
  • Purchase and budget all related expenditures for events and trainings– maintain inventory of program supplies, materials, and equipment while staying within allotted budget, maintains track of and understands how to allocate funds, processes P-card forms, SOW, etc. 
  • In consultation with Financial Services, oversee the education budget and supervises allocation of financial resources for this program, work with the Director in developing the annual budget and reviews mid-year. 

What You Should Know

  • May require evening and weekend commitments. 
  • This position works with a team of professional and student staff members in the Center for Inclusion & Social Change. This position reports directly to the Program Director for Education. This position does not supervise professional staff, but will supervise some student staff under the Education area.

The anticipated starting salary for this position is $45,000.

What We Require

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 1 year of professional experience with duties related to the position. 
  • At least 1 year of previous experience in program coordination or project management.
  • Experience with communications, digital media, web design, and graphic design.

  • Excellent communication skills including strong writing, facilitation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to accomplish multiple tasks autonomously and efficiently.

What We Would Like You To Have

  • 2 years of previous experience planning and implementing co-curricular programs in a higher education setting or related field.
  • Previous experience in social justice education and facilitation.
  • Previous related experience working in student development, student advising and leadership development, or social justice work.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining a program budget.
  • Previous experience with multiple technology and media platforms. 
  • Previous experience supervising or advising students, professionals, or groups.
