Job Summary
The Department of Civil, Environmental & Architectural Engineering at the University of Colorado seeks an Engineering Visualization Specialist to serve as Co-Project Director for the "Engineering a Trajectory of Success" (ETS) project, a collaborative U.S. Department of Education grant totaling $2.1M across three Colorado institutions. This position will lead the development of innovative open educational resources (OER) focused on Mechanics of Materials visualization tools for engineering education.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Leadership & Coordination (as Co-Project Director):
- Partner/lead creation of style guide, branding, and formatting standards for all visualization materials
- Coordinate development of mechanics of materials visualizations across the consortium
- Collaborate with partner institutions (CSU Fort Collins and CSU Pueblo) on content creation and review
- Participate in monthly project team meetings and quarterly advisory board sessions
Content Development:
- Design and develop 3D animated and interactive visualizations for Mechanics of Materials concepts
- Create accompanying 2D raster images for classroom use
- Develop textual descriptions and accessibility content for all visualizations
- Ensure materials align with universal design principles and WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines
- Conduct peer review of visualization materials created by consortium partners
Dissemination & Outreach:
- Present project outcomes at engineering education conferences (ASEE, IEEE Education Society)
- Participate in stakeholder workshops and training sessions
- Support promotion of OER materials to institutions beyond the consortium
- Contribute to scholarly publications documenting project impact
What We Can Offer
The annual salary associated with this 50%-time position is $54,000.00.

What We Require
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional experience as an architect and as an engineer
- Demonstrated expertise in engineering mechanics (statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials)
- Experience with visualization software and 3D modeling tools
- Prior experience creating educational materials or open educational resources
- Teaching experience in undergraduate engineering mechanics courses
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
