Job Summary

The position ensures the operational readiness of parking facilities across campus by performing routine and scheduled maintenance according to department and work unit protocols. In addition, the incumbent shall also transfer revenues collected at self-park terminals and assist the Senior Electronics Specialist with the performance of any diagnostics or repair of malfunctioning units.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Perform safety checks to ensure that surfaces, fixtures, and conveyances are in working order.
  • Collect revenue from self-park terminals located on campus in accordance with work unit protocols.
  • Clean parking facilities using a variety of methods and tools. 
  • Perform routine diagnostics on self-park terminals located on campus to verify operational efficiency given work unit policies and procedures. 
  • Conduct repairs on terminals within defined work unit protocols and the scope of their knowledge. 
    • Any repairs beyond their capacity to address shall be referred to senior staff and the Facilities Manager.
  • Conduct routine maintenance upon campus parking facilities in accordance with work unit protocols.
  • Receive materials for immediate use or storage in accordance with work unit policies and procedures. 
  • Recommend the procurement of tools, replacement parts, and repair manuals, based on current or projected inventory levels.
  • Respond to emergent needs as directed by department needs. 
    • This may also include collaboration with University Police to facilitate safety concerns for the campus and public good.

Anticipated Starting Salary is $38,424.00. Commensurate with experience.

What We Require

  • Two years of progressively responsible experience in building maintenance.
    • Appropriate education or successful completion of a formalized apprenticeship program will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

This position is designated “essential services.” The incumbent is required to respond to requests for work during campus emergencies (snow, wind, rain, flood and any other natural or man-made event) and report to work for his / her regularly assigned shift during emergency campus closures.
