LASP is seeking a Guidance, Navigation & Controls (GNC) system Simulation and Flight Software Lead Engineer for an asteroid exploration mission.

Who We Are
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- Responsible for the management and development of the program simulation software system.
- Responsible for the integration and test of the simulation software system for flight software test and verification, the softiSim system and the hardware-in-the-loop test system (FlatSat).
- Responsible for the management, development, delivery, integration and test of the overall GNC flights software.

What We Can Offer
The salary range for this position is $158,813.00 - $206,571.00. We offer a generous retirement plan that includes 200% matching for the first 5% contributed with immediate vesting.

What We Require
- Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent engineering discipline) with 10-15 years experience or PhD in Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent engineering discipline) with 5-10 years experience in software systems engineering and development, simulation system development, GNC analysis, flight software development, planning and sequencing systems engineering with team leadership/management experience.
- Experience with Python programming, C/C++ programming, dynamical modelling and simulation systems (e.g. Basilisk and BlackLion) for the purpose of GNC analysis, software integration, test and verification and hardware-in-the-loop test for integration, test and verification. Strong background in Flight and Simulation software development standards, processes and practices.

- Direct experience using Basilisk and BlackLion dynamical modeling and simulation systems.
