Job Summary
The University of Colorado Boulder is seeking a limited term HR Senior Consultant to provide temporary leadership coverage and operational support for HR employee relations, service center, operations unit and the HR Blueprint Project, a university-wide initiative aimed at enhancing HR structure, efficiency, and service delivery. This role will focus on core HR functions, including employee relations, policy implementation, service delivery and compliance—while supporting the transition to improved HR models and practices. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in HR management, a commitment to equity and inclusion, and experience supporting organizational change.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- Manage day-to-day HR operations in alignment with HR Blueprint project goals and institutional policies.
- Support the employee relations team by providing direction to supervisors and staff on performance management, discipline matters, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.
- Support the standardization and documentation of HR practices across units.
- Assist with organizational change efforts, including communication, training, and customer engagement related to the Blueprint Project.
- Partner with HR leadership and university departments to find opportunities for process improvements and consistency in HR service delivery.
- Maintain compliance with university, state, and federal HR policies and regulations.
- Advise people leaders and employees regarding all policies and procedures enforced by the Office of Employee Relations, including: Provide advice and guidance regarding the progressive disciplinary and grievance processes; Address grievance and dispute resolution matters; Evaluate, guide, advise and recommend methods of conflict resolution in a variety of labor relations issues; Ensure advice is consistent with the state personnel rules and procedures and University and campus policies and guidance provided by University counsel; Review corrective actions and disciplinary actions to ensure they align with State Personnel Board Rules and Procedures and University policies; Ensure defensible decisions by departments through advice and counsel.
- Provide strategic input and functional expertise to support the HR Blueprint Project’s goals of organizational alignment, efficiency, and service delivery.
- Lead or support initiatives to standardize HR practices and documentation across university departments.
- Partner with campus collaborators to ensure alignment with values in all HR processes and policies.
- Assist with organizational change efforts, including training, communication, and engagement strategies.
- Interpret and apply university, state, and federal HR policies and employment laws.
- Use HRIS systems, such as Oracle/PeopleSoft, Salesforce, or similar platforms for data analysis, reporting, and process improvement.
- Supervise or mentor HR staff as needed during the project implementation phase.

- This is a limited-term appointment not expected to continue beyond May 31, 2026.

- Monthly Salary Range: $7,500- $8,000.

What We Require
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 1–2 years in a managerial or lead role.
What You Will Need
- Proven knowledge of HR standard methodologies, employment law, and organizational policy.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, evolving environment.
What We Would Like You to Have
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial or lead role.
- HR experience in higher education or a similarly complex organization.
- Experience leading or supporting HR transformation or organizational change initiatives.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
- Experience leading performance management, progressive discipline, grievance and dispute resolution processes and complex leave programs, such as FMLA, short term disability, OJI and leave sharing programs.
- Prior experience working with and/or implementing collective bargaining agreements.
- Experience working with HRIS systems such as PeopleSoft, Workday, or similar platforms.
