Job Summary

The Department of Human Resources welcomes applications for a Service Center HR Coordinator. This individual serves as a significant resource to delegated departments on campus to perform and provide guidance on faculty, staff, and student-related personnel, position and payroll processes. As a first point of contact for our campus partners, the Service Center HR Coordinator recommends and advises on the steps to efficiently expedite all personnel and payroll related issues. Additionally, this position may consult with other Human Resources centers of excellence to coordinate a wide-ranging repertoire of HR services to campus constituents.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Research Faculty HR Processes
  • Provide consultative advice and guidance regarding Regent and University policies that affect Research Faculty positions.  
  • Interpret and communicate new policies and changes from regents or larger university to institutes HR personnel.  
  • Enforce policies and best practices for research positions. 
  • Consult and guide HR liaisons across campus in the HR lifecycle of Research Faculty positions.  
  • Review and approve new positions by checking for funding, appropriate duties, etc.  
  • Review and approve position duties to ensure compliance with Regent policy.  
  • Review and approve HCM entries including new hires, rehires, transfers, pay rate changes, FTE changes, etc. and ensure proper entry and compliance with policy.  
  • Assist and consult in process mapping, process changes or improvements for research processes throughout campus.
  • Recommend changes to HR and Research Leadership regarding possible improvements.
  • Assist with merit process. 
  • Assist with interpretation of University and Regent policy that affects research policy like pay or status.
  • Assist with the policy formation and recommendation for summer research contract policies.
HRSC Subject Matter Expert
  • Serve as a subject matter expert regarding research faculty employees, research faculty policy and guidelines internally to HR Service Center personnel and HR personnel across campus.  
  • Assist with formation of process standardization within HRSC to streamline and eliminate waste in completion of tasks.
  • Help HRSC train new and existing personnel in research policies and procedures.
HCM Expert 
  • Serve as a subject matter expert regarding HCM transactions, entry and approval for all campus (HRSC Included) constituents regarding research faculty transactions.  
  • Help HRSC train new and existing personnel in proper HCM entry for research staff.

What We Can Offer

The salary range starts at $40,000.

What We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree 
    • Professional work experience performing HR functions may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis.

What We Would Like You To Have

  • Experience working in a customer service role.
  • Experience working in a higher education setting.
  • Experience in data entry or payroll functions.
  • Experience entering and accessing data from a computer system.
