Job Summary

The University of Colorado Boulder, Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering invites applications for a non-tenure track Instructor position in its Construction Engineering and Management Program to begin in Spring 2020. We seek candidates with industry experience and teaching interests in construction engineering and project management topics, including but not limited to: construction engineering (formwork, falsework, rigging/hoisting, crane selection, de-watering); cost estimating; scheduling; contract administration; construction law. Applicants will be expected to teach and develop curriculum for five (5) undergraduate/graduate courses per academic year. Applicants will also be responsible for leading student groups; establishing new contacts with industry partners; maintaining existing alumni and industry relations; and participating in Department committees and initiatives. Preference will be given to candidates who have substantial professional experience in the construction industry, hold a MS in Civil Engineering or related field, and are registered or have the qualifications to become a registered Professional Engineer. 

The Construction Engineering and Management Program at CU was established 51 years ago and is recognized as one of the leading programs in the country. Known for its excellence and rigor, students graduate with a strong technical and management background. The Construction Engineering and Management Program enjoys a robust relationship with its alumni and hopes to continue cultivating these ties and those to industry, while upholding its tradition of producing high qualified students. 

The Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering has 56 tenured / tenure-track, non-tenure track, and research faculty members in six engineering specialty areas and four interdisciplinary areas. The Department is home to more than 550 undergraduate and 275 graduate students. The Construction Engineering and Management Program involves approximately 250 undergraduate students and 25 graduate students.
