Job Summary

The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Colorado Boulder (http://www.colorado.edu/psych-neuro/) invites applications for a full-time instructor to begin Fall 2020. The Department has a strong commitment to high-quality undergraduate education. We seek an individual with a proven record of excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level, who will also serve as a leader in helping the department achieve its educational mission more broadly.

This position includes teaching 4 courses each semester, departmental service, and active engagement in pedagogical initiatives within the department and across campus. The successful candidate will be prepared to teach a variety of psychology courses, including General Psychology, Statistics, and Research Methods.

The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience has approximately 40 tenure track faculty and 10 instructors. It offers separate bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Neuroscience to 2,7000+ undergraduates and PhDs in 5 specialty areas (Behavioral Neuroscience; Behavioral, Psychiatric, and Statistical Genetics; Clinical Psychology; Cognitive Psychology; and Social Psychology).

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

This position includes teaching 4 courses each semester, departmental service, and active engagement in pedagogical initiatives within the department and across campus (e.g., https://www.colorado.edu/program/learningassistant/). The successful candidate will be prepared to teach a variety of courses in psychology or neuroscience. Department priorities include the teaching of General Psychology, Statistics, and Research Methods. Special consideration will be given to candidates with a documented background teaching large-sized (i.e., 300+) and/or primarily freshman-level courses.

What We Require
