Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled post-doctoral researcher to join our team with research focused on wildlife habitat restoration and landscape resiliency. This position will involve close collaboration with BLM Colorado and other stakeholders to achieve the following objectives: The researcher will assess past land treatment effectiveness using a landscape-scale approach to improve wildlife habitat. This will involve analyzing historical data to identify successful strategies and areas for improvement. Furthermore, the researcher will collaborate with BLM Colorado to improve the integration of land treatment data and monitoring into its decision-making processes. This will involve developing peer reviewed publications that to inform management practices. The researcher will also share knowledge of treatment effectiveness with a broader group of stakeholders to improve the planning process of wildlife habitat restoration.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Conduct independent and collaborative research aligned with the goals of the lab and funding initiative.
  • Design, implement, and analyze field, lab, or modeling data depending on project needs.
  • Lead and contribute to the preparation of manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with federal partners.
  • Contribute to grant reporting.

What We Can Offer

The hiring rate for this 50% position is $55,000 annually.

What We Require

  • A Ph.D. in ecology, environmental science, geography, conservation biology, social science, or a related discipline.
  • A record of scholarly research, including peer-reviewed publications or submitted manuscripts.
  • Demonstrated experience with quantitative research methods relevant to the position.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
