Job Summary

Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) at CU Boulder encourages applications for a Mental Health Case Manager! The position will support coordinating and enhancing mental health case management services, building and maintaining a comprehensive referral network, and supporting the availability of community and campus resources for students. This role is focused on providing direct case management support to students, requiring collaboration with both community and campus partners to ensure effective, seamless care for students.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Resource Development 
  • Collaborate with community resources to build and maintain a strong referral network and streamline the referral process. 
  • Partner with campus departments and resources to enhance knowledge of campus resources and simplify referral access. 
  • Support with the curation of a clinic wide campus and community referral guide.
  • Enhance CAPS referral resources, focusing on low-cost mental health and medical care, basic needs, and financial support options. 
Direct Mental Health Case Management 
  • Meet with students in-person and via telehealth to provide individual case management services. 
  • Document all student interactions in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). 
  • Support students in accessing care through phone calls, secure messaging, and text communication. 
  • Facilitate open, collaborative communication with both campus and community providers to ensure strong client care. 

What You Should Know

This role will work in a hybrid work modality, with in-person being preferred for the training period. This role has an anticipated work schedule of Monday – Friday, between the hours of 7:30am and 5:30pm. This role is not expected to work University recognized holidays, weekends, or evenings and will not be on call at any time.

What We Can Offer

The salary range for this position is $54,100 - $64,000 annually.

What We Require

  • Completion of a BSW or BA in a mental health or related field.
  • 1 year of experience in case management services.

What You Will Need

  • Ability to work remotely in a quiet, confidential environment.
  • Proven ability to work equitably and collaboratively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, guided by a strong understanding of systemic barriers to care. Committed to fostering an inclusive organizational culture and delivering client-centered, equity-informed support. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • Excellent social skills. 
  • Basic functional computer skills (experience with Windows based systems).
  • Excellent organizational skills.

What We Would Like You to Have

  • 2+ years of case management experience.
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Teams and SharePoint. 
  • Knowledge of FERPA and HIPAA regulations.
  • Familiarity with Boulder County and Denver Metro resources. 
  • Experience collaborating with community-based resources. 
  • Proficient in using EHR systems.
