Who We Are
The Johnson Laboratory (http://www.johnsonlaboraotry.com) is scientific lab in the world-recognized University of Colorado.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- The primary responsibilities of the selected individual will be to perform necropsies on a wide range of amphibian species to identify and quantify macro-parasite infections.
- This will include (1) isolation of macro-parasites for molecular and morphological vouchers and abundance, and (2) use of microscopic imaging techniques to identify and document parasites in situ.
- Finally, the individual will be expected to assist with daily management of the laboratory including husbandry of live amphibians, fishes, and snails, and data entry and data clean up.
What You Should Know
This position is temporary and will require between 24-35 hours per week. Its unlikely 40 hours will be needed for this position. Weekly schedule will include Wednesday- Friday 8 hour days at minimum.
What We Can Offer
This position salary will depend on experience level of candidates (starting at $18.00 per hour up to $20.00 [pending experience]).

What We Require
- Competitive candidates should have prior independent research experience, which needs to include necropsy of vertebrates especially amphibians , proficiency with data entry and management in Excel, and some parasite identification skills.
