Job Summary

The Computer Science Department at the University of Colorado, Boulder is currently seeking applications for tenure-track faculty positions in the area of Cybersecurity. These positions are part of the long-term growth plans for the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS), and we are especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute through their research, teaching and service to the diversity and excellence of our academic community. The positions are open at all levels, with emphasis on applicants at the Assistant Professor level. All topics within the broad area of cybersecurity are encouraged to apply. The cybersecurity program at the University of Colorado is particularly interested in cybersecurity for large systems and connections to the physical world, including cybersecurity applications to cyber physical systems, the Internet of Things, and Smart and Connected Communities. 

The positions will be rostered in the Computer Science Department with joint appointment in the Interdisciplinary Telecom Program (ITP). The ITP program is being renamed and will serve as a coordination center for campus wide cybersecurity efforts. Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Computer Science or a related field. The College of Engineering and Applied Science is the highest ranked engineering college in the Rocky Mountain region and hosts several nationally ranked departments. The Computer Science Department is a growing and dynamic department that hired over 12 faculty last year.

Candidates will be expected to engage in undergraduate and graduate teaching, contribute professional service, and develop vigorous, externally funded research programs in their technical areas. Candidates whose expertise cuts across engineering and related disciplines are especially encouraged to apply. Potential faculty members applying to the Computer Science Department at the University of Colorado Boulder should describe their plans to develop a recognized research program based on scholarly work in their particular field, their ideas for interdisciplinary collaboration, their experience and interests in teaching undergraduates and graduates, and their future plans for inspiring diverse students to conduct research.
