Job Summary
The Operations Software (OSW) Manager is responsible for overall supervision and guidance to the Operations Software Group. The OSW Manager plans, coordinates, develops and administers OSW Group activities. This includes all work related to programs and projects assigned to OSW Group personnel.
The OSW Manager is the direct supervisor of the OSW Team Leads. These supervisory responsibilities include establishing performance expectations, managing outcomes, and delivering performance evaluations.
The OSW Manager is responsible for coordinating cross-functional activities with other MODS Group Leads and/or other departments at LASP. The OSW Manager is also expected to communicate any potential program, project or personnel issues that have a direct impact to MODS or LASP in a timely manner to the MODS Division Director.

Who We Are
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Lead and manage the operations software group/department
- Formulate and execute group strategic plan.
- Establish operations software goals in support of LASP and division milestones and objectives.
- Prepare and manage product and organizational budgets.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance.
- Work across OSW teams to identify gaps, problems, needs, consistency issues, and proposes potential solutions.
- Represent and promote operations software's capabilities internal and external to LASP.
- Continuously improve OSW Group internal process.
Personnel management and staffing
- Provide supervision to OSW Team Leads, and other members of the OSW Group through coaching and mentoring.
- Develop and manage OSW Group workload distribution and staffing plans.
- Oversee and conduct annual performance reviews for OSW personnel.
- Encourage and facilitate professional and student employee development and continued education.
- Supervise hiring process for professional staff.
- Support preparation of LASP or MODS mission proposals.

What We Can Offer
The salary range for this position is $168,300 - $218,000 . We offer a generous retirement plan that includes 200% matching for the first 5% contributed with immediate vesting. Relocation assistance is available per institute guidelines.

What We Require
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field.
- 10+ years of related work experience.
- 5+ years of management experience.
What You Will Need
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to strategically plan and direct activities and functions involving multiple projects.
- Familiarity with software development processes and standards.
- Software development experience with C, C++, Java, Python and Linux.
- Experience with Software Management/Lifecyle, Agile Processes and Object Orient Design.
- Experience with Cloud Computing, Containers (Docker) and Sql (Database).
- Experience with Git or other software repositories.
