Job Summary

The position ensures the operational readiness of parking facilities across campus by performing routine and scheduled maintenance according to department and work unit protocols. In addition, the incumbent shall also transfer revenues collected at self park terminals and assist the Equipment Supervisor with the performance of any diagnostics or repair of malfunctioning units. This position works outdoors.

Parking Services is responsible for the construction, maintenance, enforcement and permit sales for most of the university's existing and new parking facilities. We offer a variety of permit options to meet campus parking needs. In addition, Parking Services provides staffing and parking plans for thousands of annual campus events. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Parking Equipment and Revenue Collection:
  • Collect revenue from self-park terminals located on campus in accordance with work unit protocols. Perform routine diagnostics on self-park terminals located on campus to verify operational efficiency given work unit policies and procedures. Collect and deposit single space meter revenue which includes bagging coin and filling out daily manifests. Monitor, maintain, install, repair, remove, upgrade, and troubleshoot single space parking meters and self-park terminals. Any repairs beyond their capacity to address shall be referred to Equipment Supervisor. 
Facility Operations:
  • Operate vehicles, driving sweepers, crack seal machines, striping machine, powered and non-powered tools, various hand tools, as well as other equipment to perform routine, preventive and general maintenance on parking lots, parking lot signs, parking structures and other parking areas according to manuals and procedures. Maintain medians, flow lines and all asphalt surfaces in parking lots. This includes sweeping flow lines, weeding and or weed whipping medians and surface trash mitigation. Follow supervisor instructions and manuals for installation of regulatory and advisory signing, installation of bumper blocks, painting of lots, organizing, and delivering materials to work sites. Maintain daily records on work performed. Turn in work records and repair records to supervisor daily. Be available by radio and/or cell phone during assigned shift. 
Cleaning:
  • Perform hands on cleaning and operate power-sweeping equipment, gas powered power washer, backpack blowers and vacuums to clean parking garage floors and lot surfaces. Wipe down handrails, sweep stairwells, clean glass windows, glass doors, wipe down elevator controls, sweep and mop elevator floors, sanitize and shine inside of elevator cabs. Perform general janitorial tasks in keeping the parking facilities clean and safe, including human waste and needle clean up. Empty trash and recycle containers, wash, and sanitize containers on a regular basis. Perform safety checks on all structure doors, elevators, and accessible door paddles. Report and remove graffiti from structures and or parking equipment.
Inventory:
  • Take Receipt of materials for immediate use and/or placement in inventory in accord with inventory storage policies and procedures; recommend purchase of tools, replacement parts, and repair manuals. Coordinate student employees to store products in inventory according to storage policies and par levels.
Snow Removal:
  • Perform snow removal for parking owned areas: hand shoveling, snow blowers, ice abatement. For ADA spaces, sidewalks and a parking lot as necessary and as directed by Field or Equipment supervisor and/or Assistant Director of Infrastructure and Capital Projects.

  • All University of Colorado Boulder employees are required to comply with the campus COVID-19 vaccine requirement.

  • The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30am-2:30pm.  This position works outdoors.
  • This position will require a pre-placement physical. 
  • This position is essential services.

What We Can Offer

  • The salary range for this position is $40,000 - $42,000.

What We Require

  • Two years of progressively responsible experience in building maintenance. 
  • Substitution The successful completion of a formalized apprenticeship program or position related vocational course work can substitute for the required experience on a year for year basis.
