Job Summary

The Partnership Outreach Programs (POP) encourages applications for a Temporary Campus Visit Coordinator! This position provides precollege outreach opportunities to first-generation and other marginalized populations across the state of Colorado. The Coordinator will lead the department’s initiative to increase access and awareness of the university through our campus visit program for historically marginalized communities. The Temporary Coordinator’s primary responsibility will be to host culturally relevant and accessible tours for middle school youth. In addition, this role will support the POP department in planning and hosting academic year and summer programming to support the program’s mission in creating equitable access and exposure for post-secondary education.

The Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement, partners with communities across Colorado and beyond to provide first-generation students and their families with comprehensive college preparation and social development programming.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Campus Visit Coordination:

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate school/community organizations campus visits, including tours and special events.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive campus visit program which meets the needs of first-generation and marginalized student populations.
  • Train student tour guides and ambassadors.
  • Develop training programs to ensure tour guides are knowledgeable and effective representatives of our campus.
  • Schedule and manage tour guide assignments; Manage the campus visit calendar to adequately staff campus tours in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and deliver activities for students during the campus visits.
  • Ensure a positive and engaging experience for all visitors.

Event Planning and Management:

  • Coordinate logistics including venue reservations, catering, transportation, and staffing.
  • Collaborate with various departments and additional campus collaborators to ensure smooth event operations.
  • Lead the coordination of all summer program closing ceremonies.
  • Support summer programming in coordinating commuter programs needs such as transportation, meals, partner communication, and other needs.
  • Assist with the preparation of summer program supplies, housing requirements, and logistics.
  • Support staff plan and carryout all duties required for summer program move-in dates.
  • Fill in as needed and required by last minute changes, requests and needs for summer programming.
  • Assist staff plan, prepare and manage programming needs for all academic year Saturday Community Seminars.
  • Actively participate in committees at that department and system level to further the mission and goals of the Precollegiate at CU Boulder.
  • Connect with students and guardians as needed or required.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Communicate optimally with schools and community organizations about campus visit logistics.
  • Connect with community partners to confirm visit details, provide itineraries, and answer questions.
  • Work in partnership with the Admissions office to support and route campus visits appropriately based on needs and age of visiting group.
  • Create and cultivate campus-wide partnerships to identify additional departments interested in supporting and co-hosting specific visits.
  • Work with campus scheduling and parking and transportation services to reserve rooms and parking accommodations for weekly campus visits.
  • Work with University Housing and Dining Office to purchase and track meals for campus visits.

Collaboration and Partnerships:

  • Work closely with the admissions team, academic departments, and other campus units to coordinate visit activities.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with high schools, community organizations, and other partners to promote campus visit opportunities.
  • Represent the university at off-campus events and fairs as needed.

Data and Reporting:

  • Track and analyze visit data to assess program efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
  • Track data of schools, number of students served over the academic year, along with campus visit spending and costs, and provide monthly reports to program Director.

What You Should Know

  • This role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • This is a temporary, full-time position anticipated to last through August 2025.

What We Can Offer

The hire rate for this position will be $22.00-$26.00 per hour.

What We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Education, or a related field. Experience may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis.
  • 1 year of experience in event planning, customer service, or a related area.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
