Job Summary

The Division of Health and Wellness at CU-Boulder encourages applications for a pharmacist! The pharmacist position provides pharmaceutical services and care for the pharmacy through providing quality pharmaceutical services and meeting professional and educational goals of the institution along with ensuring high quality and ethical standards. In addition, this position provides academic service as an educational training site for pharmacy students and is responsible for providing quality customer service and ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations along with accreditation and administration standards. This position is also responsible for helping to supervise pharmacy technicians and other assistants within the pharmacy and assists in various clinical and academic projects.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Clinical Services

  • Provide direct patient pharmaceutical care within licensed scope of practice.
  • Make appropriate us of other clinical services in decision making in accordance with the standards of practice.
  • Maintain current and appropriate pharmacist credentials including Pharmacist License with accredited continuing education to acquire and maintain this license.

Purchasing of Pharmaceuticals

  • Utilize the wholesale ordering system to purchase medications, legend and retail. Understand return policies and contract obligations.
  • Monitor the cost of these purchases being fiscally responsible at all times.

Other Department Interfaces

  • Work with the Clinical Translational research Center (CTRC) to meet their pharmacy needs regarding IV admixtures (sterile compounding) and controlled trials.
  • Work with the CU Athletic Department to organize and coordinate their use of the pharmacy and the monthly billings.

Preceptor for Pharmacy Students

  • Participate as a preceptor-site for P4 pharmacy students from the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SSPPS) at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.
  • Provide mentorship and development of these students.
  • Provide evaluation through the SSPPS tool.

What You Should Know

This position will work full-time for 10 months (academic year) and part-time (50%) for 2 months in the summer (June & July).

Salary starts at $104,000 annually.

What We Require

  •  RPh or Pharm D degree.
  • Unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in the State of Colorado by date of hire.
  • Eligibility to obtain pharmacy liability insurance.
  • Current BLS certification by date of hire.
  • Immunization Certification within 6 months.
  • Oral Contraceptive Prescribing Certification within 6 months.
