Job Summary

The Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics at the University of Colorado at Boulder invites applications for a postdoctoral research position in the areas of spaceflight instrumentation and technology development. The successful candidate would work with Dr. Brian Fleming and his research group on advanced broadband mirror coatings, technologies to enable ultraviolet multi-object spectroscopy, and UV sub-orbital instrument development.

The candidate would work on developing enabling technologies to a state where they are ready for flight testing. This will involve extensive calibration and testing in state-of-the-art facilities at the University of Colorado, as well as the development of new facilities as needed. Support of sub-orbital research programs, including field work to support integration and launch activities, will also be required.

What We Require

Required Qualifications:

Experience with MEMS components, electronics and control software, as well as the clean handling of sensitive optics. Previous experience with telescopes and other astronomical hardware. A strong interest in the scientific application of space technologies.

What We Would Like You To Have

Desired Qualifications: 

Familiarity with space-flight hardware, vacuum system operation, and launch site operations would be considered additional attributes.
