Job Summary

The University of Colorado-Boulder is hiring a Post-Doctoral Research Associate to join the interdisciplinary Center for Research on Consumer Financial Decision Making. The center, housed at the Leeds School of Business and founded by John Lynch, is the world’s leading center dedicated to research on consumer financial decision-making. The center engages in both basic and applied research in judgment and decision-making, psychology, consumer research, and behavioral economics to inform our understanding of financial decisions.

The selected candidate will be joining a vibrant intellectual community. Faculty studying decision making in the Leeds School include John Lynch, Phil Fernbach, Nick Reinholtz, Joe Gladstone, Quentin Andre, Pete McGraw, Lawrence Williams, Meg Campbell, and Donnie Lichtenstein. CU Boulder also has excellent departments in related fields including psychology and economics, and Boulder is consistently ranked as the best place to live in the country. 

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

The postdoc position is for two years and is designed primarily to help a recent PhD in an allied field such as psychology, economics or sociology transition to an academic career in a business school. We will also consider business school PhDs with strong training in areas relevant to research in the center. Previous postdocs in the center have gone on to tenure-track positions at leading marketing departments in North America. If desired, the position can include a mentored teaching experience.

What We Require

PhD in an allied field such as psychology, economics or sociology to transition to an academic career in a business school. We will also consider business school PhDs with strong training in areas relevant to research in the center.

What We Would Like You To Have

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who possess rigorous training in experimental design as well as experience applying more advanced statistical modeling techniques e.g multilevel modeling, SEM, instrumental variable approaches, software skills in R, Stata or Python.
