Job Summary
The Research & Innovation Office at CU Boulder is welcoming applications for a hypersonics PostDoctoral Associate, who will support efforts to grow the campus' national security-related research enterprise. The hypersonics PostDoctoral Associate is responsible for designing and performing research in advancing the development and application of computational tools for the analysis of various aspects of hypersonic vehicle performance and phenomena including aerothermodynamics, materials, structures, propulsion, signatures, and mission design.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- Develop and apply computational tools for analysis of various aspects of hypersonic vehicle performance and phenomena including aerothermodynamics, materials, structures, propulsion, signatures, and mission design.
- Assist in the development of research proposals, key research tasks, and deliverables.
- Effectively share and communicate research results with colleagues, researchers and professionals in industry, government, national laboratories and academia through white papers, peer-reviewed publications, and presentations.
What You Should Know
- Irregular work hours including evenings and weekends may be required.
- The anticipated start date for this position is March 2025.
- This is a term-limited, 12-month position renewable subject to satisfactory performance and the availability of funding.

- The salary offered for this 100% appointment is $80,000.00.

What We Require
- PhD in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
- Due to the nature, scope and sponsor of the work, the position is limited to only U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees, with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

What You Will Need
- The candidate should have excellent technical and communication skills and be comfortable working in a team environment.
- Demonstrated high-level critical thinking and organizational skills.
- Ability to work within a complex, dynamic, matrixed structure across departments, colleges and university administration and externally with government and industry partners.
What We Would Like You to Have
- Experience in the development and application of hypersonics computational tools.
- Experience in the development and application of machine learning and AI tools.
- Self-motivated and organized.
- An ability to work individually and collaboratively.
- An interest in mentoring junior scientists including graduate students.
