What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

The prospective Post-Doctoral Fellow will investigate mechanisms of “novel spatial quality control” during proteasome assembly, and interrogate these mechanisms using biochemical and cell biological strategies, as well as actively participate in writing manuscripts. To learn more about “novel spatial quality control” during proteasome assembly, see our recent paper in Nature Communications, 2025, https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-025-58703-8. This new mechanism involves multiple cryptic nuclear localization signals, and evolutionarily conserved chaperones, including Gankyrin, a known onco-protein in humans. This research will help advance the fundamental knowledge on functions and mechanisms of the proteasome during cellular protein degradation.
