Our approximately 250 tenure-track, 115 instructional-track, and 30 research-track faculty serve more than 6,000 undergraduate students, 1,300 master’s students, and 1,000 PhD students. Our college recently updated its strategic vision to include three core foci: (i) Research & Innovation, (ii) Education, and (iii) Inclusion. We assert that a diverse faculty is necessary for achieving these goals and our campus diversity plan. We believe that our college’s success requires faculty who actively work to create an inclusive culture within the college.

The ECEE Department includes 2 University Distinguished Professors, 8 endowed chairs, 37 tenure/tenure-track faculty, 5 instructional faculty, and 4 research faculty. Faculty honors include 16 IEEE Fellows, 2 members of the US National Academy of Engineering, a National Science Foundation (NSF) Presidential Faculty Fellow, and 22 NSF CAREER Award recipients. The ECEE program consists of about 450 undergraduate and 450 graduate students and has averaged over $14 million in annual research expenditures. The department maintains close ties with local industry and national institutes/labs such as JILA, NIST, NREL, and NOAA.
