The Frequency Combs & Quantum Metrology group is seeking a PostDoctoral Associate.

Who We Are

At the Frequency Combs & Quantum Metrology group, the research group of Prof. Scott Diddams, we seek to develop optical measurement tools that lead to new physical understanding and enable technological and scientific breakthroughs. A central theme is the development and use of optical frequency combs for quantum metrology. This includes topics in laser science and engineering, precision timing, optical clocks, astronomy, ultrafast lasers and nonlinear optics, nonlinear nano-photonics, microwave photonics, and spectroscopy from the UV to THz.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Develop gigahertz rate optical frequency combs for applications in spectroscopy, astronomy, and low-noise microwave and mm-wave generation.

What We Can Offer

The starting salary range for this position is $70,000-$75,000 annually.

What We Require

PhD in physics, applied physics, or electrical engineering with 3+ years of experience with laser frequency combs and their applications. Previous experience working in the Frequency Combs & Quantum Metrology research group at CU Boulder.

What You Will Need

Knowledge, experience, and training in laser physics, nonlinear optics, fiber optics, electronic servo control systems, and frequency metrology.

What We Would Like You to Have

Experience with one or all of the following topics: 10+ GHz frequency combs, nonlinear frequency conversion in nanophotonic waveguides, servo control of lasers and frequency combs, phase noise measurement and characterization.
