Job Summary
The Aerospace Mechanics Research Center (AMReC) is seeking a PostDoctoral Associate. This position will contribute to a fundamental research project focused on large-scale acoustic and magnetic numerical simulations. The research associate will work closely with partners at other universities, requiring adherence to timelines and project milestones.
Who We Are
The Aerospace Mechanics Research Center (AMReC) is a leader in the development of computational analysis and design optimization methods for complex single- and coupled multi-field problems. This work is complemented by research on high-performance parallel computing strategies, uncertainty quantification, and machine learning. Several methods pioneered by AMReC faculty have become standard tools in academia and industry.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
The postdoctoral research associate will be responsible for developing computational methods and numerical algorithms to automate the identification of geometric features in CAD models that can be omitted in numerical simulations of acoustic and magnetic fields. Key techniques for this role include shape and parameter sensitivities, error estimation, and machine learning techniques.
What You Should Know
This appointment will not support a J-1 or H-1B visa sponsorship.
What We Can Offer
The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $75,000 annually.
