Job Summary

The Center for Integrated Plasma Studies (CIPS) in the Department of Physics at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a postdoctoral associate in computational and theoretical fusion plasma physics. 

We are looking for a postdoctoral scholar to carry out research in gyrokinetic theory and simulation. Research areas might include electromagnetic full kinetic ion models, equilibrium flow models in gyrokinetic simulation, edge turbulence simulation, and large-scale computing and optimization of gyrokinetic particle simulation. Research can range from algorithm development to using simulation to better understand experimental results. There is some flexibility in the research program depending on interest and talent the prospective candidate.

The Center for Integrated Plasma Studies (CIPS) in the Department of Physics at the University of Colorado Boulder seeks to foster plasma and beam related science and research. In particular, CIPS provides a home for interdisciplinary plasma related activities. This includes coordination of high-performance scientific and networking capability.

What We Require

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in theoretical plasma physics or applied mathematics (or equivalent).
