Who We Are

The Holewinski lab group seeks a postdoctoral researcher with experience in organic chemistry, polymer synthesis and characterization, analytical chemistry and/or electrochemistry. A successful candidate must be flexible to ensure meeting deliverables for a fast-paced, deadline-oriented project. 

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Synthesis of novel polymer materials from biomass-derived monomers.
  • Characterization methods including but not limited to NMR, HPLC, GPC, rheology, TGA, DSC, Raman and IR spectroscopy
  • Materials engineering of co-polymers to meet application needs
  • Chemical process development integrating electrochemical transformations of raw feedstocks with purification and secondary monomer conversion steps
  • Supervision, training, and mentoring of student research personnel
  • Development of new, synergistic research directions
  • General laboratory maintenance, safety, and procurement tasks.
  • Exhibiting a strong commitment to rigorous and detailed hypothesis-driven investigation

Annual salary of $54,000.00.

What We Require

  • PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science Engineering, or closely related field.
