Job Summary

Under Professor Marder’s direction, the Postdoctoral Associate scholar will participate in collaborative research efforts with a particular emphasis on synthesis and characterization of relevant materials for achieving project goals.

CU is an Equal Opportunity Employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws governing nondiscrimination in employment. We are committed to creating a workplace where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, and we encourage individuals from all backgrounds to apply, including protected veterans and individuals with disabilities.

Who We Are

The Marder Research Group seeks to advance fundamental knowledge and adapt new discoveries to practical applications through hypothesis-driven molecular design, effective synthesis, and close collaboration with theoreticians and device scientists. We design molecules to control localization and delocalization in conjugated materials to probe the influence of molecular structure on bulk properties in nonlinear optical, organic electronic and surface modifying materials. Further materials design often extends insights gained in the fundamental structure-property research to functional materials that are useful in optical devices, organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), organic field effect transistors (OFETs), and organic solar cells. A thorough understanding of our materials and processes is gained through collaboration with outstanding theoreticians, physicists, device scientists, and engineers at the University of Colorado and throughout the world.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

The postdoctoral scholar will undertake studies of how systematic variation of chemical structure of chiral systems at multiple length scale impacts the chirality induced spin selectivity (CISS) effect and other novel optical, and opto-electronic properties of materials derived from semiconductors.

What We Can Offer

The annual salary for this full-time position is $52,000.
