Job Summary

The Integrative Physiology department invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate! This position will work on an NIH R00–funded randomized clinical trial focused on sleep, circadian rhythms, light-based interventions, and cognitive health in older individuals. The postdoc will play a central role in the day-to-day execution of the clinical trial, including participant recruitment and screening, participant communication, administration of cognitive assessments, equipment and data management, statistical analyses, and preparation of manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication. The position also includes opportunities for professional development, collaboration, and contribution to grant writing.

Who We Are

The cLOcK Lab (Translational sleep and circadian therapeutics for health across the lifespan) at the University of Colorado Boulder investigates how sleep, circadian rhythms, and light exposure influence cognitive functioning and health across the lifespan. Our work integrates clinical trials, behavioral and cognitive testing, ambulatory monitoring, and translational approaches to develop scalable, non-pharmacological interventions to improve sleep and cognitive outcomes. The lab values rigorous science, teamwork, clear communication, and mentorship.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Lead and collaborate on clinical and translational research projects within the cLOcK Lab, focused on sleep and circadian-based interventions to optimize cognition and health across the lifespan.
  • Take primary responsibility for day-to-day coordination and execution of clinical trials, including participant communication, recruitment, screening, enrollment, scheduling, and retention.
  • Conduct and oversee in-person and remote cognitive assessments and other study procedures, ensuring protocol fidelity and high-quality data collection.
  • Direct research projects in close collaboration with the Director of the cLOcK Lab, including study design, implementation, data analysis, and interpretation.
  • Prepare manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals and present findings at national and international scientific meetings.
  • Contribute to the development and submission of external funding applications (e.g., NIH), including drafting sections, figures, and preliminary data.
  • Mentor and supervise graduate and undergraduate trainees involved in clinical and translational research activities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical requirements, including IRB submissions and amendments, adverse event reporting, and coordination with institutional and regulatory bodies (e.g., IRB, FDA as applicable).
  • Assist with administrative oversight of the research program, including study documentation, protocol development, data management procedures, and maintenance of regulatory files.
  • Support laboratory operations, including ordering equipment and supplies and contributing to the development or optimization of research protocols and techniques.
  • Participate in weekly department seminars, lab meetings, and other relevant academic activities.
