Job Summary

Applications are invited for two professional research assistant positions to assist in a multi-disciplinary translational project aimed at reversing osteoarthritis through a multimodal biomaterial therapeutic approach. This team project is led by Prof. Stephanie J. Bryant in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, the Materials Science and Engineering Program, and the BioFrontiers Institute.

Who We Are

The Biomaterials and Functional Tissue Engineering laboratory, led by Professor Stephanie J. Bryant, develops novel biomimetic and biodegradable materials for regenerative medicine with the goal of translating these technologies into human application. A large focus of the lab is on musculoskeletal tissues (e.g., cartilage and bone) with an emphasis on the role of mechanobiology of stem cells and the immune system in regeneration.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Conduct research under the supervision of the principal investigator.
  • Perform cell culture and biochemical/molecular biology assays.
  • Participate in project meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with team members.

What We Can Offer

The salary range for these appointments will be $40,000-$70,000 annually.

What We Require

  • Applicants should have at a minimum a Bachelor degree in biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering or related field.
  • Research experience in a laboratory at a University or in Industry.
  • Experience in cell culture and various biochemical and molecular biology assays (e.g., ELISAs, qPCR, etc.).

What We Would Like You to Have

  • An advanced degree (MS or PhD) in biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering or related field is welcomed, but not required.
