Job Summary

Strategic Relations and Communications at CU Boulder is encouraging applications for the Program Manager position! The Program Manager for Conference on World Affairs and Strategic Events plays a key role in the planning, coordination, and execution of high-impact events that support the mission and visibility of the University of Colorado Boulder. This position supports a diverse portfolio of events, including but not limited to the Conference on World Affairs (CWA), academic forums, and other engagement activities. 
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in event logistics, program coordination, and stakeholder engagement, along with proficiency in project management tools such as Asana. This role requires a collaborative mentality, attention to detail, and a passion for building meaningful connections with both campus and community partners.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Program Coordination and Support 
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Strategic Events, CWA Faculty Director, and other team members to plan and implement a range of university events. 
  • Assist in developing event themes, programming structures, and timelines. 
  • Use Asana or similar tools to track project milestones, assign tasks, and ensure timely delivery. 
  • Support budget development, expense tracking, and reconciliation for assigned events. 
  • Coordinate with internal and external collaborators to align event goals with university priorities. 
Event Operations and Logistics 
  • Manage logistical components of events, including venue booking, vendor coordination, registration, and on-site execution. 
  • Serve as a point of contact for speakers, volunteers, and community partners. 
  • Supervise student volunteer leaders during event planning and execution. 
  • Conduct post-event evaluations and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. 
Community Engagement and Volunteer Coordination 
  • Act as liaison between the university and community members, ensuring inclusive and collaborative event planning. 
  • Recruit, organize, and support volunteers for events. 
  • Foster positive relationships with local partners and collaborators. 
Marketing and Communications Support 
  • Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to support promotional efforts. 
  • Review and provide input on event materials and messaging. 
  • Assist with student-led marketing initiatives. 
Other duties as assigned 
  • All employees are expected to act on other duties outside of their job description as needed. This can include, but is not limited to participating in news and media relations efforts, marketing and other paid efforts, strategic event support, supporting crisis communications, and participating in other strategic efforts for Strategic Relations and Communications.

What We Can Offer

  • The starting salary for this position is $69,500 - $78,000.

What We Require

  • A bachelor’s degree in event management, communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • 4–6 years of experience in event planning, program coordination, or project management.
  • Experience using Asana or similar project management platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage logistics for large-scale events.
  • Experience working with volunteers and community partners.
