Job Summary
The Office of Undergraduate Education encourages applications for The Program Manager for Ralphie’s Advising Help Lab (RAHL). This position plays a key role in supporting student success at CU Boulder by supervising the operations of a centrally located, in-person drop-in advising lab. RAHL is housed within the Office of Undergraduate Education and reports directly to the Director of Campus Advising Initiatives & Strategy.
RAHL was established at the request of students to expand access to general advising and registration support for all undergraduates and provides responsive problem-solving for students navigating administrative barriers. RAHL elevates student voices by tracking and communicating common challenges and opportunities for improving advising access and streamlining the student experience. The Program Manager provides direct support to students and also supervises, mentors, and manages a team of 7–10 student employees that serve as the peer consultants at RAHL, ensuring they provide accurate peer-to-peer guidance and applying student leadership and career development theory to foster their growth. The Program Manager also hires and supervises seasonal temporary staff to manage the busy registration and summer orientation seasons.
In addition to direct student services and supervision of student employees, the Program Manager supervises key programmatic initiatives for the campus advising community that provide professional development, training, and community-building opportunities for 170 professionals in advising teams across campus. This position carries out program logistics such as scheduling speakers, creating fliers and communications, organizing events, and other hands-on tasks that ensure smooth operations. The successful incumbent will build partnerships across many campus offices and serve as a liaison with advising and administrative partners in the colleges, schools, and programs to surface opportunities to strengthen equitable access to advising.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Student Support
- Provide triage support through in-person drop-in advising, small group advising, and email/online referrals.
- Connect students with their primary advisors and maintain strong relationships with advising units across campus.
- Follow established advising protocols and use campus systems (BPA, Campus Solutions, OnBase, Outlook).
- Maintain a broad, current knowledge of academic affairs and student life resources.
- Teach students how to navigate CU Boulder’s systems, policies, and academic processes.
- Facilitate group learning through workshops and presentations.
- Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and mentor a team of 7–10 Peer Consultants, applying student leadership and development theory.
- Recruit, train, and inspire development of seasonal staff.
- Foster a problem-solving, student-centered approach grounded in care and encouragement.
- Provide performance evaluation and accountability processes to ensure high-quality student support.
Programmatic Responsibility
- Coordinate workshops and pop-up programming events for students
- Coordinate training, professional development, and community-building events for staff in the advising community.
- Build relationships with colleges, schools, and departments to maintain updated advising information and solicit ideas for programming opportunities.
- Represent RAHL in partner meetings, OUE gatherings, and cross-campus committees.
- Manage programming logistics such as scheduling speakers, creating fliers and communications, and other hands-on tasks that ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in partner meetings with specific constituents to increase student awareness of RAHL.
- Actively participate in Office of Undergraduate Education meetings and participate in cross-campus committees.
Reporting & Assessment
- Collect and analyze insights on student advising experiences, highlighting opportunities to improve access and support.
- Lead Peer Consultants in student projects that cull feedback received from the students who visit RAHL.
- Communicate to campus partners common challenges and opportunities for improving advising access and streamlining the student experience
- Track and report RAHL utilization data, referrals, and staffing patterns.
What You Should Know
This position is fully on-site on the CU Boulder campus. Some weekend and evening work hours will be required.
What We Can Offer
The annual salary range for this full-time position is $72,950 - $75,000. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.

What We Require
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and/or experience
- Relevant experience developing and managing events, including program coordination and implementation, development of professional, productive relationships across a community, and facility with hands-on logistics
- Experience supporting students outside the college classroom, through such areas as academic advising, admissions, college access, financial aid advising, counseling, mentoring, or tutoring college students
- Experience with student leadership theory and practice
- Experience implementing and assessing student success initiatives

What We Would Like You to Have
- Experience managing open learning spaces or tutoring labs for a wide variety of college students
- Completed Master’s degree in higher education administration or related field
- Experience managing and reporting statistical analysis of student success initiatives and creating and implementing programs in a higher education setting
