Job Summary
Advancement at CU Boulder encourages applications for a Project Coordinator! This role is a key support partner for the Annual Giving team. This position is tasked with supporting the acquisition and retention of entry-level and mid-level donors and moving donors through the major gift continuum. This team prioritizes the ethical collection and use of data to support operations built on best-practices and champions a donor-first philosophy towards the solicitation of donors giving gifts of less than $25,000 in support of the short and long-term priorities of CU Boulder.
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Annual Giving, this position supports the delivery of broad-based fundraising initiatives, including direct mail, digital fundraising, student calling, and Buffs All In (CU Boulder’s giving day campaign), as well as unit-representative marketing campaigns. This is an entry-level role meant to provide a pathway for a successful career in fundraising and relationship management.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Operations
- Assists the development and delivery of campus-wide appeals, in partnership with campus Units, System Annual Giving and appropriate vendors
- Identifies campus messages, stories, and themes to include in the creation of impactful outreach efforts in alignment with campus vision and goals.
- Supports campaign operations for CU Boulder’s annual giving day, Buffs All In.
- Maintains project management tools including calendars, timelines, budgets, and reports.
- Supports relationships with key partners across the campus, system, and community.
- Provides regular reports on the outcomes of fundraising efforts; communicating lessons learned, standard processes, and industry trends to support the achievement of key performance indicators.
Annual Giving and Campus Support
- Participates in the implementation of the agreed-upon baseline on Annual Giving activities shared across CU, as described in the Annual Giving Memorandum of Understanding.
- Supports the pursuit of CU Boulder’s Annual Giving key performance indicators.
- Contributes to CU Boulder Annual Giving projects and outreach, including the delivery and analysis of projects.
- The project coordinator will shadow the Assistant Director of Annual Giving and the Director of Annual Giving, Broad-based Fundraising periodically to learn fundraising strategies and tactics.
Data and Reporting
- Requests and manipulates data to provide lists, segments, analysis, and reports to support campus projects.
- Ensures the on-time and accurate delivery of data files and reports to internal and external partners as necessary.
- Supports the development and distribution of regular reports and presentations to enable the annual giving team and Advancement leadership to review, monitor, assess, and celebrate the effectiveness of fundraising activities.
- Audits annual gift data to ensure accuracy, standardization, and accessibility, including identifying and isolating data anomalies, alerting appropriate staff, and following up to ensure effective resolution.
- Assists CU Boulder Annual Giving with data-driven decisions and analysis.
What You Should Know
- This a remote position that will travel to campus several times a year for on-site events, project needs or other unforeseen circumstances.
- This position will occasionally be required to work evenings/weekends.
What We Can Offer
The salary range is $55,000 - $59,000 annually.

What We Require
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience or equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.

What We Would Like You to Have
- Experience in or understanding of a non-profit or higher education environment.
- Experience with Agile project management framework.
- Experience working in an office, program operations, or community engagement.
- Extensive knowledge/experience in Microsoft Excel.
- Software Used: Microsoft Office products, Salesforce, Zoom, Teams, Trello.
