Job Summary
The Finance and Business Strategy Office at CU Boulder invites applications for a Project Coordinator, Financial Sustainability! This position reports directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC) for Budget and Finance and is a one-year, full-time appointment focused on supporting financial sustainability projects. The Financial Sustainability Project Coordinator will provide project management and administrative support to ensure the successful execution of initiatives aimed at enhancing the university’s financial sustainability. This role involves coordinating project activities, facilitating meetings, tracking progress, and ensuring effective communication between the project team, executive leadership, and campus stakeholders. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The position will represent the Finance and Business Strategy department in daily interactions and provide direct support to faculty, staff, and leadership to advance project goals.

Who We Are
Finance and Business Strategy (FBS) is CU Boulder’s go-to resource for resource planning and management. FBS staff provide operational support at all levels to advance the University’s mission. FBS is lead by CU Boulder's Chief Financial Officer and is comprised of the following primary areas.
- Auxiliary Services: Children's Center, CU Book Store, Imaging Services, Parking Services
- Budget & Finance: Budget & Fiscal Planning, Campus Controller’s Office, CCO's Research Financial Services
- Business Strategy: Business Strategy Office, Real Estate Services
Finance and Business Strategy is a part of CU Boulder's Strategic Resources and Support division.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Project Coordination
- The Coordinator will oversee the planning, execution, and tracking of financial sustainability projects. Responsibilities include working with project leads to develop project timelines, coordinating tasks across team members, and ensuring deliverables are met on schedule. This role will organize and facilitate project meetings, prepare agendas, document action items, and follow up to ensure completion. The position will maintain project documentation, track budgets, and report progress to the AVC and leadership team. The role requires proactive problem-solving to address project challenges and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
Administrative Support
- This position provides high-level administrative support to the AVC for Budget and Finance and the Financial Sustainability project team. Duties include scheduling financial sustainability meetings, managing calendars, preparing reports, and handling correspondence. The Coordinator will compile and organize data for financial reports, presentations, and proposals, ensuring accuracy and clarity. The role will also coordinate logistics for workshops, partner engagements, and other project-related events, ensuring seamless operations and effective communication.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
- The Coordinator will serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders involved in Financial Sustainability projects. This role will foster collaboration by communicating project updates, gathering feedback, and addressing inquiries from faculty, staff, and campus partners. The position requires excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships and promote productive dialogue. The position will also prepare and distribute project-related communications, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with departmental objectives.

What We Can Offer
- The salary range for this position is $64,300 - $80,000 per year.

What We Require
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
- Three (3) plus years of experience in project management, office coordination, or administrative support in a professional setting.

What We Would Like You to Have
- Extensive experience (5+ years) with University of Colorado Boulder systems, including HCM Fundamentals, Concur Travel, Procurement, and CU Marketplace.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience engaging diverse partners in a collaborative setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft 365, and University systems (e.g., HCM, Concur, Marketplace).
- Proven track record in supporting critical initiatives in a higher education setting, particularly in project coordination and stakeholder engagement.
- Training in facilitation, inclusive meeting practices, or strategic planning in a higher education context.
- Experience coordinating cross-campus collaborations or managing complex program work streams.
