Job Summary

The experimental heavy ion group at the University of Colorado Boulder is seeking to hire a Postdoctoral Research Associate to conduct research in the group of Professor Jamie Nagle. The group is involved in the heavy ion physics program on the ATLAS experiment and the sPHENIX experiment. The candidate is expected to take a physics analysis and leadership role within the ATLAS heavy ion group. The candidate is also expected to take a leading role in the detector development, simulation effort, and physics readiness within sPHENIX. 

What You Should Know

The position is initially for two years, with a possible extension for a third year. The candidate will be based in Boulder, Colorado with travel to CERN and BNL as appropriate.

What We Require

  • PhD or in the process of getting a PhD. Must be able to have PhD conferred within one year of start date.
