Job Summary

The University of Colorado’s Center for Health and Addiction: Neuroscience, Genes and Environment (CUChange) has a Postdoctoral Research Associate position available in Imaging Analysis Research. This position is grant funded and limited to the funding term.

Who We Are

We are a motivated team that conducts transdisciplinary research exploring factors linked with health and risk behavior in regard to exercise, Cannabis use, and alcohol consumption. We seek a Postdoctoral Research Associate to lead our team in imaging analysis on a study of age-related differences in functional network connectivity, executive functioning, and exercise. Candidates should possess a PhD in Neuroscience, Psychology, Biomedical Engineering, Radiological Sciences, or equivalent degree and skillset. This position is well suited for an individual with a complete skill set in imaging analysis techniques including for multiband imaging data who is seeking to gain experience and publications as an imaging analysis expert on our team. Please note this is a one year appointment.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Expected responsibilities: Initiating analytical projects with an existing dataset, overseeing and executing all imaging pre-processing and subsequent analysis, leading and contributing to manuscript development, submission, and revision, participating in dissemination activities such as conference and meeting attendance, and mentoring junior trainees in imaging analysis.

What We Can Offer

$60,000.00 and up, which will be commensurate with education and experience.

What We Require

  • PhD in Neuroscience, Psychology, Biomedical Engineering, Radiological Sciences, or equivalent degree and skillset
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with study staff, postdoctoral researchers, undergraduates, principle investigators, and other laboratories
  • Highly proficient in FSL and/or SBM and FreeSurfer
  • Experience with advanced/high performance computing systems
  • Thorough understanding of functional and structural magnetic resonance imaging techniques including multiband data acquisition and analysis
  • Thorough understanding of core neurobiological concepts
  • Outstanding empirical writing skills

What We Would Like You To Have

  • Advanced statistical concepts and software proficiency (R/R Studio, SAS, or comparable)
  • Intermediate to advanced Python
  • Intermediate to advanced Linux
  • Experience with bash shell scripting
  • Using conda to manage Python and R virtual environments
  • REDCap project design and management
  • Automated data management utilizing application programming interface (API) functionality
