The University of Colorado’s Center for Health and Neuroscience, Genes, and Environment (CUChange) has a Full-Time Postdoctoral Research Associate position available. Principal Investigators are Drs. Cinnamon Bidwell and Tim Curran.
Who We Are
We are a motivated team that conducts transdisciplinary research exploring factors linked with health and risk behavior in regard to recreational and medicinal Cannabis use, anxiety, pain management, memory, and cognition. This position is well suited for a Ph.D. graduate pursuing a research career in cognitive science, psychology, neuroscience, translational human participant research, or other biomedical research.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Expected responsibilities:
- We seek a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate to aid with NIH-funded ERP studies of acute influences of THC and CBD on memory encoding and retrieval processes.
- Primary responsibilities include the supervision, design, implementation, analysis, and publication of EEG data.
- The postdoctoral research associate will be responsible for coordinating with the Pl and investigative team in order to manage the collection of behavioral and biological data, correspondence with the IRB regarding updates and amendments to relevant protocols, and supervision and training of research staff.
- The postdoctoral research associate will work closely with the PI to assure data quality control and the assurance of data safety and monitoring and in this role will assist the PI to conduct quarterly meetings with the external Data Safety and Monitoring Board. Support for grant writing, data management and analysis, manuscript preparation, and annual NIH progress reporting will also be expected.
- Specifically, it is expected that the postdoctoral research associate will take a lead role in mentoring undergraduates, professional research assistants, and graduate students, analyzing data, preparing data for presentation at professional conferences, and will collaborate with the PI and Co-Investigators to submit manuscripts for publication.
What We Can Offer
$57,000.00 - $63,000.00 annually depending on experience.

What We Require
Required qualifications include the following:
- Ph.D. in psychology, cognitive science, neuroscience, or another related field.
What You Will Need
Required qualifications include the following:
- EEG/ERP experience (preferably with EGI systems).
- Research experience in cognitive psychology or related areas.
- Experience with computer programming, computer networking, and Matlab.
- Experience conducting human participant research appointments and eligibility screenings.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with study staff, postdoctoral researchers, undergraduates, principal investigators, and other laboratories.
What We Would Like You to Have
- Experience conducting human clinical trials research and complying with IRB guidelines.
- REDCap project design and management.
- Literacy in R/RStudio, SPSS, statistical analyses.
