Job Summary

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is seeking a temporary Robotics Engineer. The employee will contribute to the research and development of morphological flying robots, focusing on the design and integration of novel mechanical structures inspired by biological systems. The anticipated start date is June 5, 2025.

Who We Are

Welcome to Perception, Robotics, AI and Sensing (PRAISe) Lab, led by Prof. Chahat Deep Singh.

We work at the intersection of Perception, Robotics, AI and Computational Imaging in order to push the boundaries of robot autonomy. Our Minimal Perception framework holds the key to developing small yet intelligent and efficient robot navigation systems. We focus on active and bio-inspired perception algorithms, validating our theories by developing and deploying them on robots.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Responsibilities include conceptualizing adaptable aerial platforms, prototyping bio-inspired morphologies, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize flight performance and control under diverse environmental conditions.

What We Can Offer

The hire rate for this part-time position is $20.00 per hour for 20-40 hours a week. This position provides flexible work hours and the opportunity to contribute to impactful, cutting-edge projects.

What We Require

Master's degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
